| Paula moved to Scottsdale in 1997 from Lincoln, Nebraska. Prior to moving to the valley, Baack was a choral director with the Lincoln Public Schools, Lincoln, NE, where her choirs received national recognition. Baack was also an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska. It was there that Baack directed the national touring vocal ensemble Scarlet and Cream Singers. She also was the Director of Youth Choirs for First Plymouth Congregational Church, working with a radio and television ministry. Baack has performed in over 35 supporting/leading roles. She has appeared in four, Arizoni nominated, leading roles and is a National Anthem singer for professional sports teams. For the past six years, she has been a choral director/voice coach at Scottsdale Community College (SCC). Baack founded and directs the Ja`Zaz Vocal Ensemble. A smaller group,La Petite Ja`Zaz, was created from this larger group. Both ensembles represent SCC throughout the valley, performing classical jazz with a professional trio. Baack has been recognized twice in the past four years by Who's Who of American Teachers and twice in Who's Who in America. paula.baack@sccmail.maricopa.edu |
